He rides on the wings of the wind. … He made the moon to mark the seasons.
Psalm 104:3b, 19a
Which season is your favorite? Do you prefer day or night? Remember, God created them all!
Summer brings sparkling sunlight and long, lingering days that briefly fold into dusky slumber. In autumn, the wind He rides cools the earth and adorns it with resplendent foliage; the light that begins at dawn and the dark that initiates twilight take equal shares of time. Soon enough, waning winter rays lull us to slow down, rest, and renew. In spring, birdsong flits through the warmed air fragrant with lilacs and magnolias. Energy soars anew. The wisdom and love of the Lord created it all to provide us here on earth with sustenance and renewal. So, each season becomes my very favorite when it arrives, just as God’s sun and moon glow with equal beauty.
