Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.
John 6:21
After miraculously turning five barley loaves and two fish into more than enough to feed thousands of people, Jesus withdraws. His disciples launch their boat and soon spot Jesus walking on the stormy sea. He assures them, “It is I; do not be afraid” (John 6:20). Then another miracle — the boat immediately reaches land. That was quick. Once the disciples recognized Jesus, heard His words, and welcomed Him into the boat, all was well. Like the disciples, we often find ourselves tossing on stormy seas. When we recognize Jesus, believe His words, and receive Him by the Spirit into our hearts, all will be well. It may not happen as quick as a flash, but when we turn to Jesus, He will pilot us through every earthly storm and finally land us at our heavenly destination.
