Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God ...
Isaiah 41:10
The skydiver stood at the open door of the aircraft as it moved into position. It was his first jump, and he was understandably nervous. He checked his parachute and asked his flight instructor: “Is this thing really going to work?” The instructor smiled and shouted into the wind: “There’s only one way to find out.” Life is full of those “first time jumps.” We jump into a career not knowing whether we can succeed. A new business opportunity tempts us. We hear the Lord call us to new opportunities. It goes on. The “safe” way would be to step back and remain riskless. But the God of Isaiah, the Father of Jesus, would assure us that He is with us as we wait on the threshold. As Jesus took the cross and grave, so God brought Him to the open tomb. “Do not fear. I am with you,” He says, “Take the leap!”

Call me, Lord Jesus, to venture out fearlessly knowing that You are with me, You are my God! Amen.
Reflect: How might God be calling you at this point of your life to take a risk for Him?
