Look carefully then how you walk … making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15
As our clocks “spring forward” tonight, and we seem to lose an hour, we are reminded by St. Paul of the importance of using our time wisely, “because the days are evil.” Twenty centuries later, the days seem even more evil than they were in Paul’s day, as sin tightens its grip on our society and world. That’s why we need to make the best use of the time God gives us. Time is a precious gift, but it is a gift that does not keep.
St. Paul made the best use of his time throughout his ministry, continually pointing people to Jesus and His forgiving love and saving grace. Paul encourages us to walk wisely in the service of our Savior, as we seek opportunities each day to refresh and renew the faith and life of people we know and people we meet.

Reflect: Ask the Holy Spirit each day to help you connect with someone for whom you can be a blessing.
