My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.
Psalm 84:2
All winter, I long for the dark, cold days to give way to springtime. I long to “spring forward” and enjoy extra sunlight. I look forward to watching the flowers emerge and bloom. I look forward to the trees filling their branches with green leaves. I look forward to warmer weather and time outdoors.
Just as I anticipate spring, my soul longs for the day when the dark, cold days of this life give way to the new life that awaits me. I want to “spring forward” to days when Jesus, the “Sun of Righteousness will rise with healing in His wings” and take me to Heaven. Just as I trust that spring will come after winter, I trust in the promise of eternal life, no matter how harsh the climate today!

Jesus, my soul longs to be with You in heaven. Until then, give me faith to live and serve with joy. Amen.
Reflect: Consider how you can “spring forward” in hope of Heaven, trusting Jesus and living faithfully today.
