But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ ...
2 Peter 3:18
My grandmother reminded me to be patient when gardening. Some plants need time to establish deep root systems (sleep). The next year they begin to show growth (creep). And finally they bloom (leap).
We, too, need strong roots in Scripture. We spend time studying Jesus’ examples of ways to share God’s love. He met people where they were and used concrete means to help them. Our Lord fed the hungry as He talked of spiritual food. He healed the sick as He spoke words of forgiveness. Jesus used parables as examples of our heavenly Father’s love so people could understand the amazing grace He has given. The Spirit nurtures and grows our faith so we are equipped to reflect God’s love to others.

Holy Spirit, guide my study of the Scriptures that it may help me share God’s grace with others. Amen.
