As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you …
Isaiah 66:13
Abby was special, she loved people unconditionally. She taught me how to love also. Although I wouldn’t jump up and lick a person’s nose, Abby got away with that because she was my beautiful Chocolate Labrador Retriever.
We visited folks in hospitals, private homes, nursing homes, and care facilities. When we prayed, Abby would sit quietly. Her calming nature brought peace as I shared God’s Word. Abby didn’t have to work very hard to make folks feel better, they always asked her to come back. If allowed, she would give them a paw to shake hands. This always got her another hug and always put a departing smile on the person’s face.
Abby taught me compassion and caring, and opened doors to sharing the love of Jesus with others.
Make the world better and shine Christ’s compassion on others.

Dear Lord, thank You for showing us how to be compassionate. Amen.
Reflect: Study how caring can change the way a person lives.
