Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt …
Colossians 4:6
As an introvert, I don’t have the gift of gab my husband, Ken, does. No matter where we go, he finds someone to talk to. Usually, it’s the insignia on a hat or a message on a T-shirt that sparks an introduction. Because Ken is willing to open up and share parts of his life, he discovers common interests with people. These seasoned conversations sometimes draw a thirsty soul to God. Sharing from our heart to people across the table in a restaurant puts us in a position to pray for them.
Jesus always had time to stop and talk to those who hungered for a word from God. He was willing to speak to a fallen woman at a well because she needed a message of hope. His conversation with her resulted in the entire town hearing the good news of the Messiah.

Dear Lord, help me know how to speak gracious words to others. Amen.
Reflect: Don’t be afraid to talk to people. You never know what your encouragement can mean to them.
