Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.
John 14:27a
I used to be adventurous. As I’ve aged, I’m less comfortable with new experiences. A change of address, or a trip into an unfamiliar place will raise my stress level. Will I make a wrong turn? Will I get lost?
Recently, while driving in unfamiliar surroundings, my anxiety level spiked until I remembered to send out a quick prayer to God the Father. He always answers. While I gripped the wheel, verses of favorite Scripture came to mind bringing with them the peace only the Lord can give. The following scripture verses came to mind: “I am with you always, to the end of the age,” and “Certainly, goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life.”
God answers prayer. His promises are secure.

Father God, Your promises are true. I’m confident that You’ll never leave me alone. There is no territory that is unfamiliar to You. Amen.
Reflect: Create a storehouse of scripture memory that you can call on in anxious moments.
