Resting in God’s Promises
9 5 25 HFL
September 5, 2025

“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:20b

Promises can be easy to make, but promises are not always easy to keep. When I was a kid, I made promises that I never intended to keep. “I promise to clean my room when I get home.” “I promise to mow the yard.” I suffered because of these unkept promises.

Wouldn’t it be tragic if the promises our God gives us were not kept by Him? In times of weakness or challenge, God promises and provides strength. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

In our later years, there is a sense of calm, fulfillment, and contentment because God promises “eternal life.” Let God’s promises settle in your heart. Pray always and be assured that God loves you.

William (Bill) Biester
Mesa, AZ

Dear Lord, thank You for keeping every promise You make. Help us to trust in You to bring us a true sense of peace, joy, and assurance. Amen.

Reflect: When facing uncertainties, how does God offer guidance?
