So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16
My local library sent me a text stating that the book I borrowed several weeks ago had been renewed automatically. I didn’t request that service; the library provides that service for all its patrons. It’s a gentle way of reminding me of my responsibility to return the borrowed book. Paul reminded the Corinthians, and us, that God’s grace through Christ is renewed in us every day. It’s a significant blessing of being in a faith relationship with him. We are aging. We are experiencing more aches and pains. We are attending more funerals of dear friends and family. The Good News is that, despite our human frailties, we are renewed automatically. As baptized children of the Heavenly Father, his grace automatically sustains us each day. That’s a promise for which we daily express thankfulness.

Each day, dear Lord, you graciously sustain me and uphold me automatically. Thank you in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Reflect: Thank God for the blessings that come to you automatically.
