Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind.
Romans 12:2a
After our grown boys left home, my husband and I decided to move to a smaller house. Even though we had sifted through our belongings before moving, we still had too much stuff. Without space for everything we still owned, I felt like I was surrounded by clutter. I faced the task of donating or selling things we didn’t need. Shedding unnecessary items created a more organized home.
Our minds can grow cluttered like a physical room can. We may hold on to things we need to let go of like bad memories, worry, fear, or condemning voices. We also may be influenced by some of society’s values. Emotional chaos can be calmed when we rely on the Bible to transform our minds. God’s Word will free us of confusion and wrong attitudes through submitting to His way of thinking.

Lord, thank You for showing me how to capture wrong thoughts before they take root. Amen.
