Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights …
James 1:17
God’s gift of wealth arrives in many forms — time, health, hope, relationships, life lessons, and tangible resources. Spending a moment in awe of a vibrant sunset, the touch of a loved one, or the melding flavors of a favorite dish shows God our appreciation for the riches He bestows. Each breath, every kindness, all earthly comforts and conveniences, even a dramatic situation that gives us greater insight to move toward contentment, reveal these radiant riches with which the Lord lights up our days. During stormy segments, however, our wealth may hide from us, becoming too hard to recognize through the clouds and dimness. At such times, it is important to flip on the switch of gratitude. As another of God’s gifts, gratitude provides us with our own capacity to illuminate the good along our path.

Dear Lord, may we express our gratitude for Your abundance, which comforts and shapes our lives so profoundly. Amen.
Reflect: Hold onto the expectation of wealth and list three of God’s riches already present in your life today.
