His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness ...
2 Peter 1:3
Even when I know there’s no power during a blackout, I’ll walk into a room and flip the light switch, and of course, nothing happens.
When the power comes back on, I gratefully notice each time I turn on a lamp, am aware that the refrigerator is running, or take a hot shower. That’s the case for a day or so, and then I take our power for granted again. Sadly, I’m afraid that’s the way I sometimes react to God’s power and goodness too. God shows me his love and presence and I’m SO thankful ... for a while ... and then, too often, I slip back to taking him for granted.
Even when God doesn’t answer my prayers in the way or time I would like, he always makes his presence and love for me known.

Powerful Lord, help me to thank you for never having a “power outage.” Amen.
Reflect: Every time you utilize electricity, remind yourself that God’s power is always available to you.
