The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1
The woods behind our house give us multiple opportunities to view wildlife. One spring morning a doe walked out of the trees with two spotted fawns. Our dog barked through the window at the trio, but all they did was perk their ears. The youngsters stayed close to the security of mom as she led her children to fresh grass and leaves. The babies were never left alone for even a short amount of time.
God is a better parent than any wild creature. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we are invited to access His security, abundance, and protection. Like the baby deer, when we remain close to our heavenly Parent’s side, we are led to the green pastures of provision. We can live reassured that our caring Father will never leave us or forsake us.

Jesus, thank You that You rose from the dead and invited me into the family of God. Amen.
Reflect: Think of ways that God has been a good Parent to you.
