Our Blessed Inheritance

“… Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Matthew 25:34

Many of us have had the experience of knowing families who got along with each other very well and had great sibling relationships. Yet when the patriarch, or the head of the family dies, there is great dissension, quarreling, and bad feelings about some of the inherited items. Several were hoping for Grandpa’s extensive coin collection or Grandma’s antique rocking chair. These situations negatively affect future family gatherings.

There need be no such bickering or competition for our blessed inheritance at the end of our life. God has promised that “whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” That means eternal life for you, me, and all who believe in Jesus’ sacrificial death and glorious resurrection. Our heavenly mansions are prepared!

Father, thank You for making it possible for all to dwell in heaven with You one day. Amen.

Reflect: Try to make sure all your friends and relatives know our Savior and what He has done.

Read: Matthew 19:28-30 and 1 Peter 1:3-5
