“… seek, and you will find …”

Matthew 7:7

“Thar’s gold in them thar hills!” Stories abound from the American West of miners seeking their fortune. A very few found it. Most didn’t.

Jesus says, “Seek.” Jesus promises, “You will find.” Seek what? Life, peace, joy, grace, forgiveness. Seek where? In the Scripture, the Word of God’s promises in Jesus. Seek Jesus. Find peace. Jesus already sought us, found us, and gave us peace and joy.

You will find. Not fool’s gold. Not the “nothing” of a 49’er. You will find forgiveness, salvation, belonging, grace, mercy, peace, and joy. You find it in Jesus. You find Jesus in His Scripture. This is not a game of hide and seek. God doesn’t hide from us. Open your eyes of faith. Look around you. God is with you.
