Newness of Life

Just as Christ was raised … we too might walk in newness of life.

Romans 6:4b

Every day, we step into a new world, for no two days are the same. No matter how routine our lives, God can bring about a new perspective, a new hope, a new vision. The resurrection of Christ changed everything, but the newness isn’t always obvious. Perhaps it’s a new appreciation of heaven or simply a grateful heart for caregivers who tirelessly oversee our well-being. It may be the excitement of knowing we are going HOME soon, or joy in seeing another great-grandchild born.

Newness of life is the result of Christ in us. Through Him, we infect others with smiles, words, and actions. By the Spirit’s power, others are enabled to view our peace, joy, and hope. Open your eyes to the “newness of life” today and do your best to share it.

Jan Brunette
Holts Summit, MO

Dear Father in heaven, may others see Christ in me today. For His sake, I ask this. Amen.

Reflect: Reach out to someone today with a smile. They may need to see a friendly, caring face.

Read: Isaiah 48:17-18 and Romans 6:3-5
