Love is the most powerful force in the world today. Some years ago, I remember hearing a song which had the lyric: “Love to be love must be given away.” Paul shows what Christ’s love can do as He gives it to you and me. Because of His love, we are a new creation. Because of Christ’s death and resurrection, we who believe in Him are renewed. The old, sinful self is gone, and the new self in Christ is created. Our newly-created selves focus on the life and death of Jesus Christ, who died for the souls He loves. Now we have a responsibility to share that love and message with those around us. In Jesus Christ, the old has died and the new has come. Live with this assurance.

Lord, we praise You for Your love for us even though we don’t deserve it. Amen.
