As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.
1 Peter 4:10
God can and does use people of all ages, including those the world considers old and useless, to do his work. Moses was eighty years old when God called him to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. He spent the next forty years on this journey (Exodus 2 & 3).
Abraham and Sarah were, respectively, one hundred and ninety years of age when Sarah gave birth to Isaac, fulfilling God’s promise that the world would be blessed through the seed of Abraham (Genesis 18 & 21).
When you think there is nothing more you can do, remember, you can serve the younger generation by using your gifts and years of experience and knowledge to help guide them through the uncertainties of life.

Dear Lord, help me to realize that though I am old, you can use me for your work. Amen.
Reflect: What has God called you to do in your twilight years? How can he use you today?
