Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.
Psalm 37:5
It has often been said that “Hindsight is 20/20.” It is always easy to look back at the past to see how our plans have failed. Often times, I will lie awake at night replaying how my choices went awry.
What I usually realize is that when things have gone wrong, I have made plans according to what I wanted or thought was best without turning to the Lord first. What I have failed to do is seek the Lord first, trusting that His plan is the best plan.
Now, when I look to the future, I say, “Lord, this is the direction I am going. If it is not Your plan, close the door and lead me to where You want me to be.” Committing my way to the Lord and trusting in Him, I know I will end up exactly where He wants me to be.

Dear Jesus, guide me in the way You want me to go. Amen.
Reflect: When your plans have not succeeded, reflect on how the Lord’s plans were the best plans.
