The glory of young men is their strength, but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.
Proverbs 20:29
I have seen a picture of an aging woman, whose face has many laugh lines. This woman is gazing into the mirror, and the reflection shows a very young child with laughing eyes looking back at her. She remembers her young self of decades ago.
Perhaps we, too, would rather see our younger selves looking back at us in our own mirror. Our life’s journey shows us another self, a bit older, a bit wiser. God has guided us along the way with experiences, trials, joyous moments, and heartaches. Each event marks us with memories. When we walk with our triune God, we continue to receive strength, peace, and joy each day. We appreciate God’s greatest gift to us: Jesus Christ, His Son, and we carry on, sharing with others.

Dear God, mirror, mirror, on the wall, You, my triune God, are my all. Amen.
Reflect: Share your thoughts of history’s highlights with others, show how God has guided you.
