Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
Ephesians 4:1 (NIV)
Wait a minute. I’m not sure I really want to do that. The calling that I have received is to be a servant. To minister to other people. Maybe even wash feet. That takes time, energy, and commitment. “Live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”
It doesn’t get much clearer. He says it plainly. In a humble spirit, love one another. With gentleness and patience show compassion to those I set before you. Be at peace with your neighbor. I give you my Spirit to enable you to live the life worthy of my calling. Be a servant to my people. Share my grace.
“Make me a servant, humble and meek, Lord, let me lift up those who are weak. And may the prayer of my heart always be, make me a servant, make me a servant, make me a servant today.”
