By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us ...

1 John 3:16

Love is often used in today’s communications by many people and in many ways. So, what is love? A commonly expressed thought about love is that it is a feeling of deep affection. Jesus showed His deep love for us when He was crucified for our sins. As a result, we may spend eternity with Him in heaven. It is all His doing, not ours. We are all sinners and cannot do anything to save ourselves. God has done it all.

Our response to Jesus’ love is to thank Him, give Him praise, and do His will. God’s will is for all people to be saved. As we go through life, let us rely on God’s will in all things. As God says in Jeremiah 29:11, the Lord has plans to give each of us a hope and future.

Lord, help me to do Your will. Amen.

Reflect: How often do you do God’s will?

Read: Proverbs 3:5-6 and John 15:1-17
