Like Him

May 11, 2026 | By Carol Geisler

When he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

1 John 3:2b

As we mature in age, by God’s grace, we also mature in faith. Our desire to be like Jesus increases. We seek to live in ways that reflect His love, mercy, and compassion to the people we encounter, but the day is coming when we will be like Jesus in other ways, too.

When our Savior returns on the Last Day, we will see Him as He is. He will be alive and in the flesh. We will see His risen and glorified body. On that great day, we will be raised from death, as He was raised. Our bodies will be transformed in glory. Until that day we still want to be like Jesus, but when He comes back, we will see Him as He is, and we will be like Him — forever.

Carol Geisler
Orange, CA

Jesus, I will be like You in eternity but help me to be like You today, too. Amen.

Reflect: How can you be like Jesus today?
