May the God of hope fill you with joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Romans 15:13
Jesus tells you and me that; we should not place expectations just on earthly things, but instead put our hope and trust in God. Doing this will lead to true contentment. We should find fulfillment with God and our relationship with Him instead of relying on earthly things to be satisfied. Expectation is a belief that something might happen, or a belief about how something should happen. We are told that hope is an optimistic state of mind that gives us little certainty but suggests confidence that what one desires will happen. For example, “I hope it will be sunny tomorrow.” We are encouraged in our expectations, our contentment, and our hope in knowing that Christ is enough. Remember that true contentment comes from trusting in Christ and finding faith in Him. Go with God because He goes with you!
