Sing praises to the LORD, O you his saints, and give thanks to his holy name.

Psalm 30:4

When a choir sings, individual voices blend with others to form a community of voices. The lyrics and sounds are declared and amplified in a way an individual voice cannot.

Over the years, I sang in school, church, and community choirs. I was but one voice along with other choir members singing songs and psalms of praise. We together shared the story of Jesus Christ, and the message poured out to the audience or congregation. I often imagined I was like the angels over the fields near Bethlehem who praised God and proclaimed Jesus’ birth.

Over the years, God used the song lyrics and words to grow my faith. I pray the faith of those who heard our songs also grew when they listened to the message.
