“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them …”
Matthew 19:14a
One advantage of retirement is the ability to spend more time with family and friends. My husband and I especially love having our granddaughter stay with us for long visits. This provides teaching moments as well as fun adventures.
Jesus loved having children around Him. He rebuked His disciples when they shooed the little lambs away. He told the twelve not to hinder those who came to Him. Even if you don’t have offspring, you can still impact a youth’s life through friendship, teaching in Sunday School, or becoming a foster parent or grandparent. The young ones can benefit from seeing how God fulfilled His promises to you, and you can benefit through the happiness of play. Let the children come, and you will reap the joy of planting into a sweet soul’s life.

Lord, help me listen to the needs of children in my circle of influence. Amen.
