Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
Isaiah 40:1
The bitter, cold, darkness of winter can feel gloomy, while the harsh, blazing sun and heat of summer seems unbearable. But in-between, we enjoy the temperate beauty and joy of spring rain and budding flowers.
Life is sometimes frustrating, sad, or lonely, while other times bring joyful moments with family, friends, and celebrations. But in-between, our days here are ordinary, quietly reading books or old letters, tackling word puzzles, or just watching television. These in-between times give us opportunity for reflection on God’s gifts to us: steadfast love, patience, hope, and eternal life.
Your in-between time is now, between life on earth and eternal life in heaven with our Lord, free from all ills. God promises to be with you in all your seasons, good, bad, or ordinary.

Heavenly Father, grant me this day the gift of Your peace and love. Amen.
Reflect: How does God’s Word remind us of His steadfast love and comfort during the quiet times?
