Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.
Luke 2:11
A most wonderful message was declared by an angel one night to shepherds in the Judean fields; a baby had been born in the nearby town, and He would be their savior. The angel stated that the baby was the long-awaited Messiah and Lord; promised in Scripture. Many angels joined the first angel with jubilant celebration of this one-time happening.
The story of Jesus’ birth has been told millions of times from church pulpits, in Sunday school lessons, Bible class materials, and from reading Bibles and Bible storybooks. This magnificent news still rings out with awe and joy. God sent Jesus to be with us and save us from our sins. A Savior had come for the shepherds and all the world.

Dear Almighty Father, thank You for sending Jesus to be our savior. Amen.
Reflect: Did it bring you joy the last time you received a birth announcement?
