Hope Springs Eternal

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good …

Romans 8:28

Hope springs eternal! I’ve said these words in a multitude of circumstances, especially when I’m facing something challenging. So, when our weather people in Fort Myers began reporting on hurricane Milton and the likely storm surge damage, I raised a silent prayer for wisdom and safety. Who better to talk with than our Abba? As numerous messages and emails crossed the wires asking about our plans, we sent responses of assurances and hope — we felt battle ready! In addition, we were continually checking with family and friends to be sure they, too, were ready, and provided help as needed. God was in our midst! We experienced His ongoing protection! While there was much loss, there are ongoing stories of hope and resilience as the rebuilding of lives and property continue.

Good Father, thanks for always covering us with Your love and protection during the storms of life. Amen.

Reflect: Were there challenging circumstances in which you felt God’s calming presence and rejoiced?
