… He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 1:6
Hope motivates us to keep going. Without hope we don’t want to do anything. In a Peanut’s cartoon: Lucy and Linus are watching TV when Lucy says to Linus, “Go get me a glass of water.” Linus replies, “Why should I do anything for you? You never do anything for me.” “On your 75th birthday,” Lucy promised, “I’ll make you a cake.” Linus gets up, heads to the kitchen and says, “Life is more pleasant when you have something to look forward to.” We have something to look forward to. It is eternal life because of what Christ has done. That hope is given to us when we received faith in our baptism. It is a hope that now must be shared with those around us. Look for ways to do this as you go about your day.

Lord, thank You for the hope of eternal life through Christ. Amen.
Reflect: What are the ways I might share the hope that is within me?
