My foot has held fast to his steps; I have kept his way and have not turned aside.
Job 23:11
Our family loved hiking on mountain trails. Estimating our time and energy, we’d often walk without a destination until it was time to turn back. We’d retrace our steps, enjoying the lookouts or resting spots found on the way up.
In life, there is no going back. Our path leads us forward to unknown twists, sometimes involving steep climbs and sudden descents. The uncertain future can seem scary and wearisome. How often we wish for a map of what’s ahead! Thankfully, we have a Guide who knows the way. Jesus leads us to the next rise and beyond. He holds our hand and guides our steps when the trail becomes rough, even carrying us when necessary. Our hope lies not in knowing the future, but by trusting in our omniscient God who does.

Lord, I don’t know what’s ahead, but You do. Help me trust in You today and always. Amen.
Reflect: Recall the ways Jesus has led you in the past. Thank Him for His faithfulness.
