You were wearied with the length of your way, but you did not say “It is hopeless”; you found new life for your strength.
Isaiah 57:10a
I once enjoyed playing many sports. Those days are behind me.
I find that I have been content watching my favorite teams on my TV. My doctor, however, recently challenged me to increase my exercise. “Now that you are retired,” he said, “you have more time and no excuse.” I agreed with him.
Asking God for help, I became determined to improve. I started by setting small and attainable goals. For example, I increased my time on a stationary bicycle at my nearby gym. As a result, I feel better. My energy has increased, and my weight has gone down.
I encourage fellow seniors in my situation not to give up. God can help strengthen their desire and ability to succeed.

Dear Father, please help me stay strong so that, by example, I may show others how to do the same. Amen.
Reflect: Health is a gift that allows us to care for ourselves and others. Show God that we appreciate it.
