In my Father’s house are many rooms … I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2
I was married to my loving wife Dorothy for 70 years. A few months ago, Jesus called her home to live with Him in heaven. She received her crown of glory. Yet here I am.
Here I am alone without her. Sometimes I am sad, while other times I rejoice that she is with Jesus. Regardless, living without her is difficult. I do not understand what God understands and does, but I need to trust Him.
Jesus promises to prepare a place for me if I believe and trust in Him. He desires for me to be with Him for all eternity — just like my Dorothy. I celebrate my Dorothy’s homecoming, knowing she is in Jesus’ loving care. So, here I am today. Someday, we will be in the same place, worshiping our Savior.

Jesus, help me to trust in Your promise of eternal life. Amen.
Reflect: How might you celebrate and rejoice in a loved one’s homecoming in heaven?
