… for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.
Philippians 4:11
A character in a story selects one word to describe people in her life. If she knew me, I hope a word she could ascribe to me is grateful. It has not always been so.
In early years we struggled with insufficient supplies, but God always provided, sometimes miraculously, to fill the need while we adjusted the want. In the process, our trust in His provision grew. Harder was trusting when other needs appeared relating to the health and lives of loved ones, yet God never abandoned us as we learned to adjust the want while He filled the need. Now in a relative season of plenty, we know hard times may lie ahead. We trust in and are grateful for His steadfast love.

Jesus, thank You for giving us contentment in Your arms as we wait for Your return. Amen.
