But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us …
Ephesians 2:4
Aquila and Priscilla were husband and wife who became prominent co-workers with the apostle Paul. Like Paul, they were tent makers by trade, fellow believers, and travel companions to Ephesus. Paul stayed with them while he taught Jews and Gentiles alike, new believers unified in the truths of Christian faith. Caring for Paul, Aquila and Priscilla were loving servants, providing food and lodging to Paul and others, leading a house church, and most importantly, praying for Paul as the Holy Spirit called him to preach the message of life and salvation through Christ. By God’s grace, united in faith and prayer, they were a blessing to Paul.
The Holy Spirit will equip and strengthen us to be joyful helpers for our own pastors and fellow believers.

Lord, grant us passionate hearts to pray and care for those around us. Amen.
Reflect: How does God’s grace toward us lead us to help others?
