He leads me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3b
Summer brings vacation travel and my annual trip to AAA for maps and tour books. This year the young woman at the help desk informed me that tour books were no longer printed — “That information is online now” — and some of the maps were out of stock. “Most people use their GPS today.”
I reluctantly studied the devices on my phone and dashboard and discovered the GPS showed me the most direct path to my destination. The GPS would even tell me which way to turn while I was driving, eliminating chances of getting lost along the way.
God has a perfect path for our lives. He made us His children in baptism, forgives our sins, and feeds us with His holy supper. He directs and encourages us through His Word as we journey through life to heaven.

Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths (Psalm 25:4). Amen.
Reflect: What is the furthest you have traveled from home? How did you find the best path?
