I press on toward the goal for the prize ... in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14
I used to run a lot. Bob Besalski and I even completed a marathon in 1984. But that was 40 years (and about as many pounds) ago. My email address is still runrev@gmail.com, but a friend said, “You should really change that, Steve, to trytowalkalittlefasterrev@gmail.com. I’m no longer able to run, or even walk fast, but I stretch my muscles and ride my bike daily to keep moving physically.
The Apostle Paul writes, “I press on toward the goal for the prize ... in Christ Jesus.” Paul knew where the race’s finish line was, and he did not want to stop short of the line; he wanted to finish well.
We can dedicate ourselves to both physical and spiritual health, using the time and ability the Lord gives us to honor him and to invite others to know him.

Thank you, Father, for giving us our bodies, minds, and souls. Amen.
Reflect: What can I do today to best exercise my body, mind, and spirit?
