Getting Younger
7 21 24 HFL
July 21, 2024

So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.

2 Corinthians 4:16

A tool supplied by my health insurance company helps me calculate my “biological age,” that is, a measure of how well (or not) my body functions relate to my actual calendar age. I’m proud to say that I’m getting younger! My biological age decreased 2 years due to healthy lifestyle changes.

Even more encouraging is God’s word that reminds us that even though our physical bodies decline, we are continually begin renewed on the inside because our lives have been changed by Jesus. His Holy Spirit works in our hearts, providing us a vigorous faith and the strength to exercise it daily. So, don’t lose heart! Regardless of chronological age, or the aches and pains that come with it, we’re more fit than ever for service in God’s kingdom.

Sandi Geis
St. Louis, MO

Renew me, Lord, and motivate me to actively serve with the strength you provide. Amen.

Reflect: What physical weaknesses tempt you to retreat from serving God?

Read: 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 and Psalm 103:1-5
