For I know the plans I have for you … to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
It’s nice to think the furnace we just purchased might well last the remaining years we’re in our home. But not so pleasant to think our years of independent living might be shorter than the life of a furnace!
When our future plans are uncertain or fearful, it’s good to remember God’s plan. Beginning in the Garden of Eden, it peaked in the death and resurrection of Jesus. God’s plan continues now, offering us a certain and hope-filled future with His ongoing presence (Isaiah 41:10), His many good gifts (Matthew 7:7-11), rest (Matthew 11:28), an eternal home (John 14:1-3), an end to pain and suffering (Isaiah 25:6-8) and more. It’s the only plan we can’t outlive.

Heavenly Father, thank You for including me in Your plan. Help me see those around me who are ready to hear that Your future plan includes them too. Amen.
