… to him who is able to keep you from stumbling …
Jude 1:24
I’ve fallen twice in the last couple of months, and I have the remnants of a black eye to prove it! But it made me realize that spiritual falls can be MUCH worse than physical falls.
My falls were partly due to my surroundings: an uneven boardwalk and a low curb in the dark. We need to be aware of environments that can pose spiritual risks, too: unsavory movies, questionable friends, and salacious reading material.
Another contributing factor to my tumbles is that I was distracted. It can also be easy to be distracted in our journey with Jesus. Daily life can distract us from worship, Bible studies, and prayer.
Falls aren’t fun, but Jesus is always there to pick us up, clean our wounds, and hold our hand as we go forth.

Precious Lord, take my hand lest I fall. When I DO fall, please be there to pick me up and reassure me of Your love. Amen.
Reflect: What are some environments and distractions that can contribute to falling spiritually?
