For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10
My friend Deb is a retired nurse who looks out for everyone. The “gift of helps” is woven into her nature.
Recently, Deb took on a new assignment. Seeking a more purposeful way to spend some of her retirement hours, she began training as a mentor at a pregnancy resource center. I am confident that God will use her training, life experiences, and compassion to guide women into life-affirming choices for themselves and their children.
God’s purposes for our lives does not end with retirement or the end of parenting responsibilities. Rather, he has prepared us in those busy years to serve him in new ways. Ask him what he has planned for you!

Dear Father, thank you for all the ways you have prepared me for your purpose at this time in my life. Amen.
Reflect: Consider your training and life experiences. How might God be preparing you for a new purpose?
