We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope.
Hebrews 6:19a
“We will miss you.” My aunt whispered these words on my wedding day. Until that moment, I had not realized the significance of the big change that was about to take place. I was going to move 800 miles from home. Yet, even more changes were to come in my hometown. Growing families, Baptisms, confirmations, funerals, demolished landmarks, new businesses, new neighborhoods, and so on. I also changed. My husband and I knit together our own family, while following God’s callings to new locations and even newer tasks for Him.
One thing never changes. Like a ship’s solid anchor, firmly grounding us, our shared faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior keeps our hope secure for the glory that lies ahead. Hallelujah!

Dear Jesus, may Your never failing grace and mercy give me hope on days when I feel lonely or lost. Amen.
