He covers the heavens with clouds; he prepares rain for the earth ...
Psalm 147:8
I felt alone with no help in sight. Anxiety about work responsibilities smothered me. My mind bounced from one problem to another, and my racing heart kept in step.
When I walked outside to view the mound of leaves that needed attention, a cool autumn breeze blew across my face, prompting me to look up. Fluffy cumulus clouds paraded across the blue sky. I took a deep breath and remembered I was not alone. God, who made the clouds, comforted me with reminders of his presence.
God provided a cloud as a symbol of his presence and guidance for the Hebrew people as they traveled through the wilderness. He still uses those magnificent collections of water vapor to call our attention to his magnificence.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the clouds, those beautiful reminders of your presence. Amen.
Reflect: Notice the clouds and other aspects of God’s creation this week and remember he is with you.
