For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2:8
On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther changed the course of history. Luther had struggled to know if he had done enough to pay for his sins. Then, by the work of the Holy Spirit, it was made known to him that Christ had already fully paid off his debt of sin. There was nothing he could do to earn salvation. He was free! He was loved!
God’s grace has always remained steadfast. Luther’s message echoes in our hearts: we are saved not by what we do, but by what God has done in Christ. We can take comfort and give thanks today, knowing that our worth is not measured by achievements or failures, but by Christ’s sacrifice for us.
