Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
Psalm 73:25
I’ve been wondering: Is it too late to live a good life? I recently read an article that asked, “Is there such a thing as a good life?” The author explained that research says a good life is happy, meaningful, and “psychologically rich.” “Psychologically rich” includes curiosity, cognitive complexity, and coping with health challenges. On good days, I have all that. But there are other days where there are moments when I wonder if God hears me, days when losses outnumber gains, anxious nights when I ask, “Why me, God?” That’s when I remember that God doesn’t promise to fix our problems; even better, He writes our stories (Hebrews 12:2). That single fact tells me He’ll write a good life story for me with an even greater conclusion. The title? “Heaven, Here I Come.”

Dear Lord, guide my life choices so that I follow the path You have prepared for me. Amen.
Reflect: What is your definition of a good life?
