Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Hebrews 12:14
Several years ago, I was teaching at a college. One day, a friend from my church called me. She asked if I could volunteer as the faculty adviser for students of our faith on my campus. I learned that I would need to plan the Sunday worship service in the campus chapel. I would also have to ask a local pastor to conduct it.
I felt totally unworthy of her invitation. My response to her was, “Oh, I’m not holy enough for that.”
Her reply was, “You will be.”
She was right. I accepted the position and discovered that it renewed and enriched my spiritual life. With God’s grace, I tried to become the role model that the students deserved. Their faith greatly inspired me. As a senior, I am still accompanying others on their spiritual journey.

Dear Lord, thank You for helping me to be open to unexpected ministry opportunities. Amen.
Reflect: Remember that God does not ask if we are able, just available. What is He calling you to do?
