2 Corinthians 5:20b

Humans were created in perfect harmony with God. However, since the fall into sin, a barrier separates us from God. On our own, we cannot bridge the chasm. We needed a way to be reconciled with God again. That’s where Jesus comes in. He has reconciled us to the Father through his own death and resurrection.

However, we are still sinners. Martin Luther points out in the fifth petition of the Lord’s Prayer, “We daily sin much.” Because of our sins, our reconciliation and renewal to God is an ongoing, daily process. We sin. We repent. God forgives. We are renewed once again because God’s love is never ending. Praise God!
