… In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
1 Peter 1:3
When we moved from our last house, we still had encyclopedias on the bookshelf and a record player in the dining room. As low-tech Becks, we were satisfied. But our culture, family, and friends intervened, and we, of course, embraced technology. What we found were wonders galore; things we didn’t know we were missing: the internet, email, Zoom, GPS, cell phones, connections! I’m thinking that might describe people before and after they become believers. Yes, life was just fine, but when someone introduces them to Jesus and ultimate faith, a wondrous transformation occurs — life, light, forgiveness, joy, love, peace, and salvation. A whole new world of things they didn’t know they were missing! (Just for the record, though, our 16-year-old grandson has a record player and loves our old LPs.)

Lord Jesus, empower me to tell others of Your love, forgiveness, and joy. Amen.
Reflect: Do you know someone you might connect with to help them move from before to after?
